Two motorcycles collide sending riders to hospital
Two motorcyclists from Minnesota were airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul after they collided Sunday afternoon just east of Prescott.
The accident occurred at about 2:25 p.m. when Larry Stitzelo, 67, Lexington, was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Highway 10. Another motorcycle, driven by Bonnie Faye Sontag, 57, Farmington, was on 620th Avenue trying to turn right on Highway 10 from 620th Avenue.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, the two motorcycles then made contact.
The Prescott Ambulance Service along with the Prescott Fire Department arrived on the scene and transported the two to a field behind Ptacek's IGA in Prescott which was being used as a landing area for two Lifelink III helicopters.
The pair was then airlifted to Regions Hospital, according to the Prescott Ambulance Service. As of 12 p.m. on Monday both Stitzelo and Sontag were listed in fair condition.
