UPDATE: Sunday's accident victim ID'd as South St. Paul man

A South St. Paul man has been identified as the victim of Sunday's two-vehicle crash on County Rd. T at the I-94 exit ramp in the town of Pleasant Valley.

The St. Croix County Sheriff’s office said the victim was John A. Burnside of South St. Paul.

The sheriff’s report said at 1:50 p.m., July 14 a 2004 Ford Taurus driven by Burnside was stopped at a sign on the east off-ramp from I-94. A 2010 Ford Edge driven by Amy Olson, 38, Hammond was southbound on County Rd. T.

Witnesses said Burnside pulled away from the stop sign and was struck by Olson’s vehicle in the driver’s side. Olson and a four-year-old passenger, suffered minor injuries and were not hospitalized. Burnside died at the scene, the Sheriff said.

The incident marked the seventh fatality on county roadways this year.
