MARTELL - A two-vehicle accident with injuries took place just at 12 p.m. Friday in the Pierce County town of Martell just north of Lawton.


Barbara Gagliardi, 56, Hudson, was southbound on Hwy. 63 when she attempted to make a U-turn in the intersection of Hwy. 63 and 690th Ave, according to Pierce County Sheriff's Sergeant Chad Koranda in a news release. While attempting the U-turn, Gagliardi entered into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by Ernest Schutz, 70, Trimbelle, causing the collision. Both vehicles had significant front-end damage. 

Gagliardi was not transported by Ambulance and was released to family. Schutz was transported by Ellsworth Ambulance with undetermined injuries. 

Personnel from the Ellsworth Fire Department were also on scene.

Koranda said the accident remains under investigation.
