Emergency responders were on the scene of Mega Bus versus semi-truck crash at about 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, on I-94 just east of the Baldwin exit. A van was also involved in the crash.

Although one individual in a semi-rig, ditched in the median, had to be extricated from a damaged tractor, he was said to be uninjured.

Ambulances from Baldwin, Hudson and River Falls were summoned to check out people on the bus, who were said to have suffered some neck pain. According to dispatch reports, as many as six people may have been injured on the Mega Bus.

According to the State Patrol, a westbound van allegedly made an illegal u-turn through a crossover and entered eastbound I-94. An eastbound Mega Bus and a semi swerved to miss the van. The bus and semi collided causing the

semi to enter the median. The bus was driven onto the shoulder. The injuries are non-life threatening.

A bus from Baldwin-Woodville School District took the remaining passengers from the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.

The Megabus, a national economy chain, has eight buses that depart daily from Minneapolis to Chicago with stops in Madison and Milwaukee. The bus involved in the crash near Baldwin likely departed Third and Washington Avenue in Minneapolis about noon.
