The Falcons and Blugolds entered the game as the only undefeated teams in conference play, each at 2-0.

UW-RF used a smothering defense and a balanced offense that saw nine players finish with at least six points in the win. Shane Manor was the Falcons' leading scorer with 11 points.

The Falcons led by eight at the half before outscoring the Blugolds 37-21 in the second half to secure the victory.

Eau Claire trimmed the half-time lead to three early in the second half, before UW-RF went on a 15-4 run and never looked back. The 24-point ending margin was the largest lead of the evening for the Falcons.

In addition to Manor's team-high 11 points, Jontae Koonkaew, Aaron Anderson, UT Udo, Brady Hannigan and Brian Kimble scored eight points apiece and Jake Voeltz contributed seven points and pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.

The Falcons, now 3-0 in the WIAC, 7-2 overall, play next at UW-Oshkosh (1-1, 3-3) Saturday at 4 p.m. They return to Karges Center to host Hamline (3-3) in a nonconference game Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 8 p.m. before a two-week break.

The UW-RF women also defeated UW-Eau Claire Wednesday night, 65-64, in Eau Claire to improve to 2-1 in the WIAC, 6-2 overall. The Blugolds dropped to 1-2 in the WIAC, 4-4 overall.

Maranda Dorhn's three-pointer with 1:25 remaining gave the Falcons the one-point lead and were the final points of the game. Alise Holst led the Falcons with 18 points.

The UW-RF women are currently ranked 25th in the nation and face UW-Oshkosh (1-1, 6-4) Saturday in Oshkosh.
