North Hudson Police Sgt. Mark Volz was on his way out of the department when he heard three-year-old Wyatt Traynor, accompanied by his grandmother, Bernice Traynor of North Hudson, ask if he could have a tour of the department.

Volz turned around and told the boy he would be happy to show him around.

Dressed in his own police jacket and hat and a citation book, Wyatt said he was going as a policeman on Halloween and hopes to be an officer when he grows up.

Volz, who recalled a similar incident when he was a boy, said he enjoys encounters like the one with Wyatt because it gives children a positive impression of police officers.
