Wagner and band play country
Pop Wagner with featured guests Kevin Anthony and the Twin City Playboys will perform in concert on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 7:30 p.m. at The Phipps Center for the Arts. The Renaissance cowboy and this honky-tonk band play a mix of Cajun, western swing, zydeco, blues, and country music, "from the days when it still sounded like country music." Wagner has an international reputation as a singer, picker, fiddler, lasso twirler, and poet. He frequently appeared on National Public Radio's "A Prairie Home Companion" during its formative years. An accomplished folk musician, he has performed throughout 44 states and ten countries over the last four decades. Pictured above are from left, Pop Wagner, fiddle; Eric Paulson, bass; John Terr, accordion; Al Epp, drums; Kevin Anthony, fiddle; and Bill Quinn, steel guitar. Tickets are $23 for adults and $16 for students of all ages. Discounts are available by purchasing season tickets.
