Walker sends letters to Congress urging Stillwater bridge action
MADISON -- Gov. Scott Walker sent two letters of support to Congress Thursday urging action on legislation to fund a new St. Croix River crossing at Stillwater.
In his letters, the Governor notes the bipartisan support for the bridge in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.
"There is evident bipartisan support to make this project a reality," the Governor wrote.
Walker had also voiced his support for the project during a press conference Wednesday in Hudson.
"What else could get both (Minnesota Congresswoman) Michelle Bachman (R-Stillwater) and (Minnesota Senator) Al Franken together?" Walker quipped Wednesday.
"I strongly urge you to advance this legislation and help our state progress toward the construction of the St. Croix River Crossing Project", he wrote.
