Wekkin to seek NH presidency; two trustee seats may be open
The village of North Hudson could have two vacant trustee seats entering the April election.
President George Klein and trustee Dan Ortner have both filed non-candidacy papers. Trustee Stan Wekkin has filed papers to run for village president. If Wekkin is elected (he is the only candidate who filed for the post), it could leave open both the trustee seats of Wekkin and Ortner.
Two other trustees, Colleen O'Brien-Berglund and Marc Zappa, have filed papers for re-election. As of the Wednesday deadline, however, no candidates have filed for the Ortner seat or the potential Wekkin seat. With no candidates filing, the posts could be decided by either write-in candidates or appointments by the board.
Candidates had until 5 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 2) to file.
