Wisconsin libraries fuel state's economy
A study by NorthStar Economics completed in May found that libraries in Wisconsin have an economic payback of more than $4 for every $1 invested by taxpayers.
The total economic contribution of Wisconsin public libraries to the Wisconsin economy is $753,699,545. The return on investment in library services is $4.06 for each dollar of taxpayer investment.
NSE, of Madison, was retained by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction to study the economic impact of Wisconsin's public libraries.
