Wisconsin running back Zach Brown wants to prove himself Saturday against Purdue

Wisconsin running back Zach Brown says he's a better player than he's shown and he wants to prove it on Saturday when the Badgers host Purdue.

Brown, a junior, lost his starting spot to sophomore John Clay.

But the coaches say both will play against the Boilermakers, and so will freshman rusher Montee Ball. All three are healthy.

Brown suffered a concussion against Ohio State. And he sat out the second half of that contest, as well as the following week's loss to Iowa.

He says it's been a long time since he's played and he's ready to show what he can do.

Brown is Wisconsin's second-leading rusher with 217 yards and three touchdowns.

But his fumbles have been a concern. He lost fumbles against Wofford and Michigan State.

The Badgers will try to break a two-game losing streak. They're 2-2 in the Big Ten and 5-2 overall.
