WisDOT seeking public on planned improvements I-94 interchanges
Preliminary plans for roadway improvements to the I-94/Carmichael Road and I-94/U.S. Hwy. 12 interchanges will be the subject of a meeting Tuesday, July 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the St. Croix County Government Center in Hudson.
A short presentation is planned for 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the County Board Room on the main floor of the government center, located at 1101 Carmichael Road.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is studying the I-94 corridor in Hudson in anticipation of making improvements. The purpose of the July 1 meeting is to get public input on the project.
Staff from WisDOT’s Northwest Region office at Eau Claire will be on hand to answer questions. Maps of the proposed improvement area will be on display.
WisDOT says the I-94 and adjacent intersections are expected to experience significant traffic congestion by 2035 due to projected growth in the area.
“Interchange improvements are needed to produce efficient traffic flow on the regional and local system. To alleviate this congestion, existing network modifications and new roadway connections are being studied, and we’re looking for input on those options,” a WisDOT official said in an email announcing the July 1 meeting.
The message didn’t say when the construction will take place.
Jim Koenig of WisDOT’s Northwest office is the project manager for the improvements. Written comments regarding the project can be mailed to Jim Koenig, WisDOT, 718 West Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54701 or emailed to email@example.com.
