Be part of summer celebration

The 2008-09 season marks the 25th anniversary of The Phipps Center for the Arts. The focal point of the anniversary celebration will be a community-built parade and presentation in Lakefront Park on Saturday, July 19. A series of free art-making workshops are being offered by Christopher Lutter-Gardella of Puppet Farm Arts, artistic director of this project.

These workshops are for artists, educators and all others who want to receive the training to work with a community group of their choosing in the creation of collaborative and eco-conscious projects to support the 25th anniversary event. The final two workshops are Saturday, May 3, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the National Park Service headquarters in St. Croix Falls; and Sunday, May 18, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the River Falls Public Library, 140 Union St. To learn more, visit To register for a workshop, contact Anastasia Shartin at The Phipps, or (715) 386-2305, ext. 103.

It is left for Winnie to discover that the only thing that is truly everlasting is love. General admission tickets are $9 for children and $11 for adults.
