UW-RF music groups perform

Band/orchestra and percussion ensemble concerts are scheduled next week at UW-River Falls in the Abbott Concert Hall, Kleinpell Fine Arts Building.

  • On Tuesday, Nov. 11, the St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Band, under the direction of Kris Tjornehoj of Hudson, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and $2 for students. The orchestra is comprised of musicians from ages 15-80 from the greater St. Croix River Valley in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Band members are music majors and minors at UW-River Falls.
  • On Thursday, Nov. 13, the Percussion Ensemble will perform a free concert at 7:30 p.m.

    Professors discuss Iran

    The next discussion in the UW-River Falls Community Classroom series will examine historical, political and socio-economic factors that have influenced relations between the United States and Iran. The presentation, "Perspectives on U.S.-Iran Relationships," is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, in the lower level of the River Falls Public Library, 140 Union St. Speakers include UW-River Falls professors Hamid Tabesh, economics; Reza Rahgozar, accounting and finance; and Majid Entezarian, an adjunct professor and director of applied research at Phillips Plastics Corp.
