The Von Trapp family will take center stage at Hudson High School as students present the well-known and well-loved musical "The Sound of Music."

The musical follows Maria, played by Heather Skoglund, a postulant in an abbey who struggles to adhere to the required life. After hearing arguments from Sisters Berthe, Margaretta and Sophia, played by Maggie Smith, Kenzie Kroll and Kirsten Amann, Mother Abbess, played by Karsyn Garber decides to send Maria back into the world to see if she is ready. Maria is sent to serve as a governess for the children of Captain Georg Von Trapp, a retired navy captain, played by Chase Kloster, who runs his household the way he ran his ship. Despite orders of discipline from the captain, Maria brings fun, laughter and music to the children's lives.

The seven Von Trapp children are played by Rebecca Tank as Leisl, Silas Heisler as Friedrich, Hannah Burns as Louisa, Blake Palm as Kurt, Cecilia Schley as Brigitta, Carly Brown as Marta and Tatum Dulon as Gretl.

Premiering on Friday, Feb. 16, the show will run weekends through Sunday, Feb. 25. Showtimes are 7 p.m. for Friday and Saturday performances, and 2 p.m. for Sunday performances.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for students. Tickets can be purchased from box office Monday through Friday from 3-7 p.m. Box office number is 715-377-3808.
