A 22-year-old Madison man saw an “escort” on the Internet and called her to his house. He paid her $200 but he said he only got half of what he was promised.
The woman said it would have cost him an additional $100 additional for the rest. That didn’t sit well with either the customer or a larger woman whom police said might have been the prostitute’s security guard.
The episode ended without incident then the man called police to see if he could get his money back. An officer arrived at his house and asked the man if he knew prostitution was illegal before giving him a $681 ticket for it.
Officers never found the prostitute or her security guard. If they had, police would not have given the man’s money back because it was used to commit a crime.
