A Kenosha woman has pleaded guilty to two counts of child neglect after she left her two kids in a hot car while she lay inside a tanning salon.
Yolanda Kruse, 26, is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 20. She also pleaded guilty to bail jumping, and two charges of reckless endangerment were dropped in a plea bargain.
The incident occurred in May of 2009 behind the Sun Kissed Tanning Salon in Kenosha. An employee called 911 after hearing a child scream.
Police found a 22-month-old girl crawling in Kruse’s vehicle, and a one-week-old boy in a car seat with the sun directly on him. It was 102 degrees in the car at the time.
Kruse told police she went to the tanning salon to look better a week after giving birth. The children were not injured.
