An advocacy group wants Milwaukee Police to give Nazir Al-Mujaahid his gun back. He’s the grocery shopper who pulled out his concealed weapon on January 30 and foiled a robbery attempt by two men at a Milwaukee Aldi’s store.

Prosecutors cleared Al-Mujaahid of wrongdoing. And the group Wisconsin Carry Incorporated now wants Milwaukee Police to return the man’s gun and holster. Police say they still need the weapon to use as evidence in the pending court cases of the two alleged robbers.

The “Journal Sentinel” says hundreds of people a year must go to court to get their weapons back – and Al-Mujaahid has had to do it twice in the past. He’s currently appealing a third refusal to return a weapon.

Wisconsin Carry accuses Milwaukee Police of quote, “concocting baseless reasons to seize any and all guns they come across,” even those never used in crimes.
