Two men from northwest Wisconsin await charges after being arrested last week for the intent to sell a synthetic drug. Authorities executed a search warrant at a home in Barron, and seized $25,000 worth of “bath salts.”
Officers said they confiscated almost 1.25 pounds of the drug, which they describe as quote, “the worst attributes of meth, cocaine, PCP, LS-, and Ecstasy.” They arrested a 53-year-old man and a 26-year-old man in connection with the seizure.
Barron County officers said “bath salts” are getting more common in their area. They said the drug can cause elevated blood pressure and heart rates, paranoia, hallucinations, chest pains, and liver failure.
Court records show that the 26-year-old has two other drug charges pending, including possession of LSD and illegal amphetamines. A plea hearing in that case is set for May 9th in Barron County Circuit Court.
