A River Falls woman injured in a single-vehicle accident in the town of Kinnickinnic Thursday evening was transported directly to Regions Hospital in St. Paul for treatment.

Amber M. Nelson, 22, with a last known address of 940th Street, was southbound on Liberty Road when her car apparently drifted off the pavement, struck a culvert and went airborne a short distance before coming to rest in a ditch near 238 Liberty Road, according to Jeff Klatt, Patrol Captain with the St. Croix County Sheriff's Department.

Emergency responders from River Falls were alerted to the accident at 8:47 p.m.

A River Falls Area Ambulance first-responder was on-scene along with a River Falls paramedic, firefighters and St. Croix County deputies.

The initial report indicated Nelson was unconscious and slumped over the steering wheel but a subsequent report noted she'd regained consciousness but was still in the car.

A spokeswoman for Regions said Friday that they had no record of Nelson, which could either mean she was treated and released or the family requested no information about her condition be released to the public.
