Gas prices jump 20 cents in one day in some parts of state
Gas prices rose 20 cents a gallon in parts of Wisconsin Thursday, just as folks were getting ready to drive off for the Memorial Day Weekend.

Four-dollar fuel, which had been limited to the Milwaukee area, spread into northeast Wisconsin. Marinette had last night’s high of $4.17 a gallon for unleaded regular.
MilwaukeeGasPrices.com reports an average price of $4.14 this morning (Friday), up a nickel from Thursday.
WisconsinGasPrices.com reports a statewide average of $3.95, up 3 cents in the last day. Spiraling crude oil prices were to blame.
Meanwhile, some charities are feeling the pinch including Meals on Wheels programs that deliver meals to the homebound elderly.
In La Crosse County, volunteers deliver about 225 meals each weekday. They get reimbursed 50 cents a mile, but not all drivers are asking for it.
La Crosse Aging Director Noreen Kuroski says she’s not only concerned about keeping volunteers for Meals on Wheels but also for the program that gives rides to medical appointments for seniors who can’t drive.
