State Supreme Court Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson might be getting a challenger for next spring’s election.
Jefferson County Circuit Judge Randy Koschnick says he’s been calling business and law enforcement leaders to round up support.
Koschnick, 48, says he’s leaning toward running and he’ll decide in about a month.
Koschnick has been a judge since 1999. He calls himself a judicial conservative, and he describes Abrahamson as having a liberal judicial philosophy.
Burnett County Circuit Judge Michael Gableman ran for the Supreme Court this year as a judicial conservative and he unseated incumbent Louis Butler last April.
Abrahamson has been on the state’s highest court since 1976.
