Two from Eau Claire die Sunday in Colorado traffic crash

Two people from Eau Claire were killed in Colorado early Sunday in a crash that reportedly happened during a chase with state troopers.

The State Patrol identified the victims as Jonathan Holum, 29, and Cora Weil, 23.

Authorities said a pick-up truck driven by Holum was weaving just after midnight Saturday on Highway 82 near Glenwood Springs, Colo. And a trooper stopped the truck on suspicion of drunken driving.

But troopers said the truck then drove off, and tried to force a patrol car off the road during the chase.

The truck veered out of control and rolled over.

Both Holum and Weil were ejected. Neither was wearing a seat belt.
