ESPN says it’s not true that Brett Favre will see orthopedic surgeon James Andrews today about possible arm surgery later in the week.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reported the meeting and the possible surgery Monday, saying it could clear the three-time MVP quarterback to sign with the Minnesota Vikings.
But ESPN reported a few hours later that Favre will focus on non-surgical options for the partially-torn tendon in his right biceps.
They include cortisone injections, and exercises that may cause the tendon to fall apart naturally maybe reducing Favre’s pain.
He reportedly felt pain while throwing the football about 12 times a week and a half ago.
Favre, 39, retired for a second time in February from the New York Jets, after he unretired last summer following 16 years with the Green Bay Packers.
