Do you have those old Wisconsin sesquicentennial license plates on your car?

The Department of Transportation wants you to replace them, if they’re fading.

Wisconsin issued 440,000 commemorative license plates in 1997-98 to help celebrate the state’s 150th anniversary.

And officials say about 185,000 of those plates are still on the road, well over a decade later.

If you can’t read the number on your sesquicentennial plates, you can get replacements at the Division of Motor Vehicles’ Web site, with a link at Wisconsin.gov.

Non-personalized plates will be replaced for free.

If you have personalized anniversary plates, it will cost $15 to replace them.
