Almost 210,000 Wisconsin vehicles still have the state’s 150th anniversary license plates from 1998.
The Department of Transportation will stop giving out replacement Sesquicentennial plates on Aug. 1, because the supply is almost gone.
The plates were extremely popular around the time of the state’s anniversary.
They have not been given out since ’98 except as replacements.
Those with sesquicentennial plates can get them renewed if they act by Aug. 1. After that, those folks will go back to the state’s normal design.
