Farve may be thinking purple

Apparently, we could see more of that this fall. ESPN says Favre and Childress will meet later this week about the possibility of the three-time MVP quarterback joining the Vikes.
That’s after the New York Jets gave Favre, 39, his release last month. None of the involved parties are commenting.
Favre, who played 16 years in Green Bay, said last month he’s still retired “at this time.”
The Vikings would have to be convinced Favre is OK, after he tore his right biceps tendon last season. And they’d need a quick decision, since they’d want Favre to be at their off-season practices which begin on May 19.
The Jets recommended he have arm surgery if he wants to keep playing. He has not had the operation, but it’s still possible.
With Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels as Minnesota’s quarterbacks, there’s a strong chance Favre could win a job if he’s healthy enough.
And Minnesota can afford him, since they’re $14 million under the salary cap.
Favre has publicly admitted that he wants to get back at Packers’ GM Ted Thompson for not letting him return once he first retired last March.
A Jets’ executive told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in January “He talked about the Packers all the time. He’s obsessed with them. I don’t know if he’s ever going to let it go.”
Favre threw a career-high six touchdown passes for the Jets in Week 4 last season. But he stumbled in his last five games, throwing nine interceptions as the team went 1-4 to miss the playoffs.
