Favre decision expected by Friday

We might know by Friday whether Brett Favre will play for the Minnesota Vikings.

NFL.com says those closest to the former Packers’ quarterback expect a decision this week.

Favre, 39, recently said he’s trying to decide if his surgically-repaired right arm cast last for a whole season.

And the league’s Web site says Favre is still undecided about whether he wants to endure another training camp and pre-season.

The Viking players will report to camp a week from Thursday.

Favre continues to work out with players at Oak Grove High School near his home in Hattiesburg, Miss.

The local newspaper said Favre threw about 50 passes last Friday, and 95 percent of them were quote, “spot on with plenty of zip.”

Favre was said to be hitting the receivers in stride.
