Jeff Skiles and Sully Sullenberger have become the new chairmen of the EAA’s Young Eagles’ flying program.

The two pilots who landed a U.S. Airways flight in the Hudson River were chosen this week to replace Actor Harrison Ford. Ford spent five years chairing the EAA program which lets children ages 8-17 ride in private planes.

Tom Poberezny, who chairs the Experimental Aircraft Association in Oshkosh, honored Ford for his service this week at a banquet in California and he welcomed Skiles and Sullenberger into the fold.

Ford says the two will have great credibility when speaking to young people about flying, and the values or training and teamwork.

Skiles is from Oregon in Dane County.
