Bowlorama to raise funds for Bridge

Xcel Energy and Hudson Knights of Columbus are sponsoring the third annual Bridge Bowlorama at Hudson Bowling Center in Plaza 94 from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, April 5.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Claiborn House and other Bridge programs for students and young adults with disabilities.

The event features 25-32 special-needs Bridge bowlers from Hudson and the surrounding communities. There will be 32 teams this year comprised of Bridge bowlers, students who volunteer as mentors to their peers with physical and cognitive challenges coming from Hudson High School and the University of River Falls, and adults from the community who will serve as team captains and team mates.

This is a major fundraiser for Bridge. Dr. Garth Christenson, event organizer, believes the event will raise the level of awareness of aptitudes, interests and needs of students and young adults with cognitive disabilities in the western Wisconsin area.
