Kenseth wins Nicorette 300; 8th at Kobalt Tools 500

That's after the Cambridge driver won the Nicorette 300 Saturday on NASCAR's No. 2 circuit.

Kelly Bires went up three places to 10th for the year after placing 12th at Atlanta. Johnny Sauter of Necedah went down three spots to 18th after taking 26th in the Nicorette.

Matt Kenseth of Cambridge finished eighth in NASCAR’s Kobalt Tools 500 Sunday near Atlanta.

It was his second top-10 finish of the season in the Sprint Cup circuit. Kenseth rose four places to 12th in the season point standings.

Kyle Busch won the race and he’s the series leader.

Meanwhile, Paul Menard of Eau Claire took 19th and moved up one spot in the point totals to 25th.

Travis Kvapil of Janesville finished 27th and he dropped one spot in the standings to 29th.
