Martell Vineyards offers spring classes

Local growers Tom and Deb Martell are offering two classes this spring through WITC-New Richmond: Establishing a Vineyard, Saturday, March 29; and a Grape Pruning Clinic, Saturday, April 19.

Local growers Tom and Deb Martell are offering two classes this spring through WITC-New Richmond: Establishing a Vineyard, Saturday, March 29; and a Grape Pruning Clinic, Saturday, April 19. Cost for each is $60 and includes lunch and breaks.

  • In the March 29 class, Establishing a Vineyard, Tom Martell will teach students about cold-climate grape varieties and vineyard development for home use or commercial production. The class runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at WITC-New Richmond.

  • Tom and Deb Martell will discuss and demonstrate grape vine pruning at Martell Vineyards near Somerset in the April 19 class, scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
