Di Johnson has been named the new director for the Hudson Area Senior Citizens Center.

Johnson has lived in Hudson for two years and previously lived in Stillwater. She worked as a nurse for 30 years, caring for elderly people.

“I believe with the nurturing and continued sharing of all of us who have given throughout the years, Hudson Senior Center can only promise to fulfill that many more lives.”

She also reminds people of the time to kick off the gardens at the center May 14 and 15.

“Anyone excited to help us plant our gardens and fill our flower pots are welcome,” Johnson said. “Donations of annuals, perennials and grasses will be gratefully accepted. Join us May 14-15.”

She said she also looks forward to “all the possibilities of good friendship, laughter, great food and creativity in making a difference in our lives and in others’ lives — that is why we are here.”

Johnson has two adult children, Catie, who is a social services director at a nursing home in Menomonie, and Matthew, who works part time in construction and part time as a personal trainer at the YMCA in Hudson.
