Phipps holds ‘In Full Bloom’ celebration

The seventh annual “In Full Bloom” spring celebration runs from 5-9 p.m. Friday, May 2, and 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 3, at The Phipps Center for the Arts, 109 Locust St. All events are free and open to the public.

Members of The Phipps receive a 20 percent discount on all purchases from the Gift Gallery.

On Friday evening, there will be hors d’oeuvres, music, artist demonstrations by Jane Mannetter (henna) and Marjorie Wade (pottery), all new work in the Gift Gallery, and a galleries reception. The galleries feature collaborative acrylic on vinyl paintings by Frank and Pamela Gaard, landscape paintings by Teresa Cox, sculptural ceramics by Susan Feigenbaum, photography by Ken Olson and recent pastel drawings by Sue Rowe.

Also on view is an exhibition of work by adult art students of The Phipps. This evening is a mini Hudson art crawl with Seasons on St. Croix, which will hold its monthly First Friday reception from 5 to 9 p.m.

On Saturday morning, children and adults are invited to meet Summer Art Camp instructors, learn more about classes offered, and the whole family can participate in hands-on art-making projects celebrating spring.
