An ongoing weekly watercolor studio class for beginning and intermediate watercolorists will be offered by Lynne Baur and Carolyn Streed on Wednesdays, May 7-28, at The Phipps Center for the Arts, 109 Locust St.
The morning class meets from 9 to 11:45 a.m. and the afternoon class meets from 12:30 to 3:15 p.m. All students in the classes are invited to bring a brown bag lunch and share paintings and conversation from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. between classes.
In these studio classes, participants will work on projects of their choice, with Baur and Streed providing individual and group coaching. The class will provide help on every aspect of watercolor painting, from choosing a suitable subject and planning the painting sequence, to making final adjustments. A suggested materials list is provided upon registration and materials will be available for students to borrow on the first day.
Baur began painting about seven years ago, and paints nature-inspired watercolors. Samples of her work is available at www.lynnebaur.com. Streed has been a student of Baur for the past two years and now is painting professionally.
