Henna workshop set for teens and adults

A henna workshop for ages 12-adult is being offered from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 10, at The Phipps Center for the Arts. This class is recommended for mothers and daughters, or grandmothers and granddaughters to take together to celebrate Mother’s Day.

A henna workshop for ages 12-adult is being offered from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 10, at The Phipps Center for the Arts. This class is recommended for mothers and daughters, or grandmothers and granddaughters to take together to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Participants will learn about this form of body art, which is based on the traditional Eastern art form. Students will receive recipes for making paste and learn how to mix it, experiment with various application techniques, and learn how to do both traditional and contemporary design work. Each student will receive a henna design applied by the instructor. Tools and materials will be provided for use during the class and will be available for purchase.

Instructor Jane Mannetter is the owner of Zaney Janey’s Activity Center, Check it Out, located in downtown River Falls.
