Letter: Bikers on road are a concern

I am writing in hopes that an accident may be prevented as the weather brings outdoor exercise into full swing. I have lived on Trout Brook for six years and it amazes me that nobody has been killed due to the ignorance of bikers on this road.

They ride side-by-side and in the middle of the road without even considering the safety of anyone else who may be traveling on the road. The bikers never move over when they know a car is behind them, forcing the vehicle to “crawl” up the hills. They then angrily wave the cars around them.

Why do they think that anyone in their right mind would pass them on the narrow, winding curves that proceed up the entire road? I am sure this will turn into “We have a right to bike on Trout Brook” but we who live there also have a right to safety. Nobody “owns” that road, and we need to learn to share it together before a serious injury occurs.
