Dear Editor,
On the night of June 3, 2007, through the early morning of June 4, 2007, I was involved in acts of criminal damage to property along with a large group of other Hudson High School senior students that left the school districts of Hudson, New Richmond and River Falls as victims.
I am very disappointed in the decision made by myself that night and I deeply regret being involved in what ended up being a senior prank gone wrong. I realize that I have put the citizens of the victimized towns, the school districts, the families of the “vandals,” and the families of the ill-accused River Falls students in a very stressful and unnecessary situation and apologize to everyone that was affected by the wrongful acts.
I ask that you could find it in your hearts to forgive me and accept my apology.
Editor’s Note:The writer is one of the former Hudson High School students found guilty of vandalizing area schools in June 2007. As part of the sentence by Circuit Court Judge Scott Needham, each defendant was instructed to write a letter to several newspapers, including the Hudson Star-Observer.
