Dear Editor
On June 17 I called home after lunch to see how our girls were doing. I found out my nearly 14-year-old daughter had been knocked off Townsvalley Road south of Hudson by a passing car while riding her bicycle.
Rachel was on the far right side of the road, where she is allowed to ride. Thankfully, she is okay, just some scrapes and bruises from rolling into the ditch. The driver did not have the courtesy to stop to see if she was okay.
Maybe he/she didn’t see Rachel, but should have at least checked! The outcome this time was okay, but could have been avoided. School is out, drivers. Kids will be out on bikes, pedestrians on walks. Please, please, please, watch out for them!
