The Milwaukee Bucks will pick eighth in tonight’s (Thursday) NBA Draft and most speculation has them taking West Virginia forward Joe Alexander.

Both Alexander and forward Anthony Randolph of LSU said Wednesday that the Bucks were interested in them.

The New York Knicks are also said to be interested in the 6 foot-8 inch Alexander with the No. 6 pick.

If that happens, many observers say Milwaukee will grab up the 6 foot-10 inch Randolph.

Don’t be surprised, though, if the Bucks do something else altogether.

Bucks’ General Manager John Hammond says he wouldn’t rule out a trade if he could find somebody who will make the team better.

Randolph says the Bucks seem to be very high on him and he wouldn’t mind playing in Milwaukee. He says he’s a laid-back person and Milwaukee is a laid-back town.

Alexander, meanwhile, made a second visit to the Bucks’ training center this week. He says his interview went extremely well.

Tonight’s draft starts shortly after 6 p.m. There are two rounds, and Milwaukee has pick No. 37 in Round 2.
