Workshop participants will create the colorful pottery during this four-day workshop. They will use hand-building and wheel techniques to create functional and decorative forms from low-fire earthenware clay. The instructor will show historical and contemporary images, and participants will spend time discussing the work at various stages to aid in idea development. This workshop is open to all levels and designed to introduce participants to this well-known style of pottery.
Wade has taught pottery classes at The Phipps for the past six years as well as in local schools and from her studio. She has taken numerous clay classes, programs, and workshops and completed her studies in ceramics at the University of Wisconsin at River Falls. Her work is available in area galleries and on her Web site at www.spiritworkspottery.com.
