Forbes says two Wisconsin counties among best places to raise a family

Milwaukee’s northern and western suburbs are among the best places in America to raise a family.

That’s according to Forbes magazine, which ranks Ozaukee County second on its new list.

Waukesha County is No. 8.

Forbes says the best place to raise a family is just north of Indianapolis. That’s based on things like tax rates, school graduation rates and test scores in college entrance exams.

Forbes says Ozaukee County used to be a stop on the “old dirt trail” from Milwaukee to Green Bay but now, it’s the wealthiest county in Wisconsin.

Forbes cites a 96 percent high school graduation rate in Waukesha County, with native celebrities like Les Paul, who invented the electric guitar.
