Dear Editor,

Your article (June 5 Star-Observer) on the death of the two brothers was not only unprofessional, but also bordered on being downright cruel. The reporter and editor of your paper should be ashamed of themselves for causing further pain to the survivors, and unnecessary humiliation.

No matter what mistakes these two men make in life, they are dead now, and unable to speak out on their own behalf. It’s not your job to cast judgement by printing such a biased article. They will fact God, just as we all will, to be held accountable for their lives by the only one worthy of judging.

I wonder if the reporter of this story has any children? I understand each of these men has a young adult child. Don’t you think beginning they journey of adulthood, and forever associating it with losing your father, would be hard enough? Did you ever consider how this article might affect the children of these men? Consider the skeletons in your own closet. Would you like your kids to read all about them after your death? Where’s your respect?

One thing is certain, I have lost a great deal of respect for your newspaper.
