A young woman who was convicted of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle was sentenced to prison last Thursday.
Casey L. Wolf, 22, 1465 N. Fourth St., New Richmond, received a 12-year sentence July 10 including three years in prison and nine years’ extended supervision.
Wolf was convicted March 11 of one felony count of vehicular homicide, and two additional felony counts related to the incident were read into the record and dismissed.
She was charged following the Jan. 13, 2007, investigation of a two-car crash in which Sheldon D. Weiss was trapped inside a burning car and died of injuries suffered in the mishap.
The sheriff’s accident report said Wolf was driving a 1994 Ford Mustang south and Weiss was driving a 2004 Chevrolet north on County A when the two vehicles collided head on. The accident occurred about 4:30 a.m. just north of County U in the town of Hudson.
