Dear Editor

After reading the editorial in the paper and much discussion about the Stillwater “bridge situation” and the Sierra Club (which by the way you can join for $15 and cause so much trouble for so many people if that is what their agenda is) — imagine this — the Stillwater Bridge will be closed due to safety reasons sooner than later (especially since the state of Minnesota is watching their bridges closer since the accident in Minneapolis).

We in the Stillwater, Hudson and surrounding areas will experience such traffic jams due to the lack of common sense for months and years ahead until the new bridge can be built.

We need that new bridge, if not for anything else but safety. Everyone must think about it as they drive over that nice old structure. We as residents in this area must not let this Sierra Club stop us anymore. The safety of the many people outweighs the Sierra Club agenda.

If we were driving a horse and buggy over this bridge is would maybe last a little longer, but then we must be concerned for the animals’ well-being — no one wants to see a horse fall in the river!

Let’s get a new bridge in place. Enough is enough!
