Dear Editor
Longtime residents of North Hudson will miss the presence of Betty Zezza in her home at the corner of Seventh and Pine streets. For over 60 years her home was a place to hear a friendly hello, have a cup of coffee or share in the peppers and tomatoes from her garden.
On July 24, Betty moved to the Care Center in Hammond, where she will celebrate her 89th birthday on Aug. 11. For those of us fortunate to know her — and there are many — we wish her a happy birthday and joy in her new home.
Our memories travel with her to Hammond, although her “hi” and “God Bless You” remain as part of her gift to North Hudson history.
Barbara Zezza Smrdel, River Falls
Niece of Betty Zezza
