The theme for Girls Nite Out, scheduled from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, is “Hudson Whodunit” with a mystery waiting to be solved at local downtown businesses Back to Books, Digital Garage, Grapevine Interiors “At Home,” Kelley Frame & Fine Art, Lavender Thymes, Little New York and My Sister’s Garden.

The night out will feature a murder mystery based on the board game “Clue,” in which participants travel to each of the featured businesses collecting clues in seven categories, such as who did it, where did it happen and with what weapon.

Pink ribbons will be placed on key items NOT used during the murder. Game cards and a list of the evening’s activities can be picked up at any one of the seven featured businesses. There will also be specials, samples and drawings at local retailers along with the hunt for that special “pink shoe” — find it and win $25 in Chamber Bucks.

After shopping, there will be entertainment, refreshments and prizes (like a one-night stay at the Phipps Inn) at North Point Bar & Grill in North Hudson starting at 9:15 p.m. Jazz and gypsy swing music will be preformed from 8:30–9:30. Prizes will be awarded beginning at 9:15.

Girls Night Out is a quarterly party designed to showcase downtown Hudson and all the fun that can be found there. The next night out is set for Oct. 9.
