Dear Editor,

The Starr Wood Neighborhood would like to show our appreciation and recognition to the following individuals for their role in making our second annual National Night Out a huge success: The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department, especially Deputy and Investigator Brandi Hart and her team from the sheriff’s canine division, Deputy Josh Stenseth and his dog, Ace, along with Deputy Jason Sykora and his dog, Doc.

They are a huge asset to our community and we were thrilled to have them at our event. They are an outstanding team and really helped us gain insight into crime and crime prevention in our local area.

We also had warden Dave Hausman from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources attend and help us address our neighborhood concerns in relation to natural wildlife, namely bears and deer. Dave is an excellent resource and a highlight of our evening as well.

The Hudson Fire Department also attended and provided an outstanding hands-on demonstration of their firefighting equipment — even having one of our teenagers try on their firefighting suit and respirator! We enjoyed learning and seeing exactly what their rig is capable of performing and the expertise of our firefighters. What a team!

We also want to acknowledge our local sponsors for their contributions to our event.

Starr Wood’s National Night Out was a success due to these outstanding individuals, sponsors and contributors!

Deb Dragoon, Hudson

The Starr Wood Neighborhood
