Letter: Campbell is writer’s pick

Dear Editor,

The upcoming primary election on Tuesday, Sept. 9, has a candidate for the Register of Deeds for St. Croix County by the name of Geri Campbell. I encourage all voters to cast their ballot for Geri at this election.

Geri Campbell has worked in the register of deeds office for more than 21 years. In that period of time, she has performed and educated herself to advance to the position of first deputy to the current register of deeds, Kathleen Walsh. The register of deeds is a very detailed position — they review for accuracy, and record death certificates, birth certificates, marriage certificates, UCC filings and all real estate documents.

Having been associated with the register of deeds office for the last 33 years as a title examiner, I have personally been aware of the knowledge and responsibilities needed to be a register of deeds.

To me, the best candidate for the position is Geri Campbell. Geri is exceptionally knowledgeable, great at assisting the public in their needs and maintaining your records in an efficient manner.

Your vote for Geri will ensure the continued courtesy, respect and dedication that you have come to expect. St. Croix County has been very fortunate to have had only two registers of deeds in the last 30-plus years, and that continued service will be best served by electing Geri Campbell.
