Dear Editor,

As your register of deeds for the past 14 years and as a member of the register of deeds team for 31 years, I am pleased to endorse Geri Campbell as the candidate most qualified to serve as your next register of deeds.

Geri Campbell has been a member of the register of deeds office for more than 21 years. I appointed Geri as the first deputy two and a half years ago. One of her main responsibilities is assisting with supervising the office, which she does with great accuracy and attention to details. She assists with preparing the office budget, maintaining highly accurate financial records and she is responsible for reviewing and recording the real estate records.

Additionally, she has held the positions of vital statistics and real estate clerk. As a result of these experiences, Geri is exceptionally knowledgeable about the operation and requirements of the register of deeds office that are mandated by Wisconsin state statutes.

In 1997, with the approval and support of the County Board, we implemented the automation program for real estate records. Since then, we have had numerous updates to the program. County departments that need land record information may access it from their offices. Also, the real estate records are available online through a subscription agreement approved by the County Board and based on Wisconsin statutes.

With Geri’s experience, the office will continue to convert to the next generation of software as part of the recently approved agreement with our vendor. She works closely with the software vendor when updates are needed or users have questions.

With your support of Geri in the upcoming primary election, you are voting to maintain the high quality of customer service for which the office has always been known. Electing Geri Campbell as the next register of deeds will guarantee a smooth transition in the leadership of the office.

Your vote for Geri Campbell on Sept. 9 is needed to assure her name on the ballot for the general election Nov. 4.
